Campaign Finance Case

Supreme Court reversed a two decades long discion allowing new corporate spending in political races. Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission is a precedented case ruling that the government cannot restrict corporations from spending money to influence political campaigns, means that Walmart could one day rule the world through financial influence. No really the point is that a lot more people are going to be pessimistic about goverment and elected officials. Seeing them as no more than pawns to an unseen agenda that disrupts there common and wanted lifestyle.

The 5-4 decision rolls back at least two decades of restrictions on what unions and corporations can spend in elections and frees special interest groups to unleash a flood of advertising to sway the outcome of races close to elections.

President Obama who strongly objects the decision of the conservative majority of the court said,” With its ruling today, the Supreme Court has given a green light to a new stampede of special interest money in our politics,” Obama said. “It is a major victory for big oil, Wall Street banks, health insurance companies and the other powerful interests that marshal their power every day in Washington to drown out the voices of everyday Americans. This ruling gives the special interests and their lobbyists even more power in Washington while undermining the influence of average Americans who make small contributions to support their preferred candidates.”
